Lady Cougars Fall; Cougars Remain Unbeaten

The Dickson County Lady Cougars dropped a tough district match up on the road at Page, 67-61. The game saw 17 lead changes and 8 ties, but in the end Page remained undefeated at 8-0.

Page was held to 36-percent shooting from the field but converted on 31 of 35 free throws, attempting 20 more from the line than Dickson County. Twenty-four of those attempts for Page came in the fourth quarter.

Caty Roberts and Sierra Morgan had big nights for Dickson County. Roberts finished with a game-high 23 points (FG 8/13, 6 steals, 4 assists, 4 rebounds) while Morgan added 19 points (10 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals). Both seniors ended the night on the bench after fouling out. MacKenzie Cochran led Page with 19.

The Lady Cougars fell to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in district play. Page improved to 8-0, 3-0.

In the boys game, Page jumped out to a 17-9 first quarter lead after scorching the nets in the opening frame by connecting on 73-percent of its shots. That was the wake call that Dickson County needed. The Cougars responded by outscoring Page for the next three quarters, taking a 60-45 win.

Cade Purvine led Dickson County with 17 points (6 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals). Zade Holt and Luke Jenkins came off the bench to score 10 and 9 respectively.

Dickson County improved to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in district play. Page dropped to 5-3 overall.
