DC Sweeps Spring Hill in District Opener

Dickson County improved to 4-2 on the season with a 68-39 win over the visiting Spring Hill Lady Raiders.

The Lady Cougars jumped out to an 18-8 first quarter lead before Spring Hill cut the gap to six at the break, 31-25. That was the wake up call the home squad needed. The Lady Cougars would go on to outscore the visitors 37-14 in the second half and led by as much as 32 points in the final quarter.

Senior Sierra Morgan erupted for a game-high 22 points on 9 of 15 shooting from the floor. Morgan added 5 steals and 4 rebounds. Caty Roberts tossed in 15 points to go along with 8 assists. Madison Geisler and Hanna Ingram added 10 points each. Sierr Stedman led Spring Hill with 17 points.

D.J. Stacy tossed in a game-high 18 points to help Dickson County win its fourth straight game without a loss.

Even though the game remained fairly close in the first half (33-27), Dickson County never trailed. The Cougars slowed pulled away in the second half, leading by as much as 25 in the fourth quarter. Dickson County held Spring Hill to under 40 percent shooting while forcing 22 turnovers.

On the offensive side, Winn Gramling tossed in 13, while Jett Carter (6 rebounds) and Tucker Purvine (three, 3-pointers) added 9 each. Cade Purvine added 8 points and 8 assists. Alex Rose led Spring Hill with 14 points.

Dickson County returns to action this week with a huge district match up at Brentwood on Tuesday before returning home to face Ravenwood on Friday.
