DC Sweeps Harpeth in Tuesday Night Hoops

Harpeth 36 - Dickson County 51
Dickson County raced out to a 21-0 lead to start the game and fought off Harpeth (1-3) to pick up a 51-36 win at home.

After surviving a hot start from Dickson County, Harpeth countered with a 17-2 run and cut the score to 23-17 in the third quarter. Dickson County would carry a 12-point lead into the locker with a 21-9 advantage at the break.

Harpeth would cut the lead to 5 (31-26) early in the fourth quarter before Dickson County was able to get hot again on the offensive end, putting up 22 points in the final quarter.

Caty Roberts came out on fire in the first quarter. The senior guard connected on two 3-pointers and had 8 points as the Lady Cougars took a 17-0 advantage at the end of the first. Roberts would finish the night with 12 points. Hanna Ingram added 12 points in the paint. Senior Sierra Morgan led Dickson County with 13 points while adding 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 blocks, and 4 steals.

Dickson County improved to 2-2 and returns to action this Friday against Spring Hill.

Harpeth 29 - Dickson County 71
Dickson County came out of the gate blistering the nets, taking a 30-8 first quarter lead while nailing eight 3-pointers in the opening frame.

The Cougars stayed hot in the second quarter, hitting four more 3-pointers, to take a 53-18 lead at the half. Wynn Gramling, Jaden Davis, DJ Stacy, Cade Purvine, and Luke Jenkins all hit 3-pointers in the first and/or second quarter, with Davis hitting 4-of-5 in the half.

Dickson County was led by Davis with 20 points. Cade Purvine had an excellent stat line on the night, finishing with 10 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Zade Holt came off the bench to add 7 points and 7 rebounds.

The Cougars improved to 3-0 with the win. District play begins this Friday at home against Spring Hill.
