The new rivalry created by Burns continued to grow on the hardwood. In the opener, Charlotte girls ran away with a 46-9 win. On the boys side, Burns opened up a close game in the third quarter and went on to a 42-26 win.
The Lady Tigers came out hot on both ends of the court and raced out to a 22-2 half time lead before cruising through the second half while improving to 12-1. Savannah Baker tossed in a game-high 12 for Charlotte. Alessia Nesbitt added 9 in the win. Kayla Gilardi led Burns with 7.
In the boys game, Burns erupted for an 18-5 third quarter to open up a close game. Malakhi Redman was nearly unstoppable in the paint for the Bobcats, tossing in a game-high 21 points as Burns improved to 6-5. Wyatt Gramling scored 10 and Gregory Fort added 8. For Charlotte, Brodie Balitzy scored 7, followed by Josh
Ellis (6) and Gavin Miller (4).
