Wolcott Named TGA Junior Player of the Year

(Franklin, TN) The Tennessee Golf Association is pleased to announce Ben Wolcott as its 2012 Harold Eller Boys Junior Player of the Year and Alexandra Farnsworth as its 2012 Ruth Eller Girls Junior Player of the Year. Wolcott, from Burns, TN, recently signed to play at Ole Miss beginning in 2013 while Farnsworth, from Nashville, is a Junior at Ensworth High School.
Wolcott earned Player of the Year points in a total of ten events this year. His top finishes included a second place finish at the AJGA Music City Junior and a second place finish at the TSSAA DI-AAA High School Golf Championship where he lost in a playoff for both titles. Wolcott made the cut at both the Tennessee Open and Tennessee Amateur Championships where he finished tied for 33rd place and 37th place respectively. Wolcott also captured three United States Junior Golf Tour events including their Tour Championship.
Farnsworth was able to earn Player of the Year points in eight events with her top finishes including a second place finish at the Tennessee Girls’ Junior Championship and Tennessee Section PGA Junior Championship. She also lost in a playoff to win her second consecutive TSSAA DII-AA High School Golf Championship. Farnsworth finished third at the AJGA Junior at Southwind and won her second consecutive Schooldays Tournament.
Wolcott and Farnsworth will both receive commemorative TGA Junior Player of the Year awards and will have their names etched on the Harold Eller and Ruth Eller Junior Player of the Year Cups.
